Markus Hadulla


Born in Cologne, Germany, pianist Markus Hadulla studied at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe with Hartmut Höll, the Conservatoire National Supérieur De Musique in Paris, and the Yale School of Music with Peter Frankl. He has participated extensively in master-classes, working with a number of prestigious musicians including Elisabeth Schwarzkopf, Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, and Finnish pianist and composer Ralf Gothóni.

Markus Hadulla has won several international awards, including the prize for best pianist at the 7th International Hugo Wolf Competition in Stuttgart in 1994. A frequent chamber music collaborator, he has worked with Tabea Zimmermann, Mitsuko Shirai, Stella Doufexis, Stephan Genz, Christianne Stotijn and the RIAS Kammerchor.

With violist Antoine Tamestit he was selected to be part of the Rising Stars programme of the European Concert Halls Organization (ECHO) for a recital tour during the 2005-06 season which led to concerts in Carnegie Hall, NewYork, the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, the Philharmonie Köln and the Konzerthaus Wien.
