Edmund Battersby is a soloist with leading American orchestras, an active recitalist in the United States and abroad and a well respected and versatile chamber musician. As a soloist he has appeared with the Rochester, Pittsburgh, New Jersey, Memphis, Amarillo and Hartford symphony orchestras, the Dayton Philharmonic, the National Orchestra of Chile and Mexico’s Symphony Orchestra of Guadalajara.
He has played recitals at Wigmore Hall and Alice Tully Hall, and he is constantly re-engaged at festivals throughout the United States and Europe including, Lincoln Center’s Mostly Mozart, the Bard Festival and major French festivals.
Edmund Battersby has collaborated with the Tokyo and Manhattan String Quartet and has played with a number of leading violinists in chamber music recitals. He became a member of the faculty at the School of Music of Indiana University at Bloomington. For Naxos, Edmund Battersby has accompanied Qian Zhou on two volumes of Dvořák’s music for violin and piano.
