Olga Peretyatko

Olga Peretyatko started her musical career at the age of fifteen in her native St Petersburg, where she was a member of the Mariinsky Theatre Children’s Chorus, singing in their Carmen. She completed her training as a choral conductor with distinction. From 2002 she studied singing at the Berlin Hanns Eisler Musikhochschule with Brenda Mitchell and Júlia Várady. She has won success in several international singing competitions, including the Schloss Rheinsberg Chamber Opera Competition in 2003 and 2004 and the Ferruccio Tagliavini Competition, with Dame Joan Sutherland in the jury. She won the fourth International Belcanto Prize at Rossini In Wildbad in 2005 after a mastercourse with Raúl Giménez, and second prize in Plácido Domingo’s Operalia. In 2005 she sang Tamiri in the revival of Meyerbeer’s Semiramide under Richard Bonynge at Bad Wildbad. She then joined the International Opera Studio of Hamburg State Opera, where she sang various coloratura parts, from Monteverdi to Mozart, and Donizetti to Offenbach and Wagner. She made her début at the Berlin Komische Oper as Olympia. She turned to bel canto with Contessa Follevile and Corinna in Rossini’s Il viaggio a Reims at the Accademia Rossiniana in Pesaro in 2006 and in 2007 sang Desdemona in Otello at the Rossini Opera Festival. Other rôles include the Forest Bird in Siegfried and Anne Truelove in Stravinsky’s The Rake’s Progress.
