Doris Hall-Gulati

Doris Hall-Gulati was awarded First Prize in the 1996 Louise D. McMahon International Music Competition, held in Lawton, Oklahoma, and in 1997 made her New York début, performing the world première of a new clarinet concerto by John Carbon at Avery Fischer Hall, Lincoln Center, with Gerard Schwarz and the New York Chamber Symphony. She has recorded the Carbon concerto on the MMC label. Doris Hall-Gulati has performed as a soloist with many orchestras, including the Philadelphia Virtuosi and the Youth Honor Musicians Orchestra in St Petersburg and Moscow. She is an active chamber musician and has appeared with the Alaria Chamber Ensemble at Carnegie (Weill) Hall, the Beijing Quartet in China, and Camerata of New York in their début at Avery Fisher Hall, and Ozawa Hall, Tanglewood, Massachusetts. She is a graduate of Peabody Conservatory and the University of Michigan and currently performs with the Philadelphia Virtuosi, Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia and the Opera Company of Philadelphia. She is also is on the faculty of Franklin and Marshall College.
