Joseph Jackson

Joseph Jackson

Joseph Jackson is a native of Illinois and holds degrees from McKendree College and the University of Michigan, where he studied with Robert Glasgow. In addition to numerous solo recitals throughout the United States, he has worked extensively as an accompanist in vocal and chamber music programmes and has appeared as a guest artist with several regional orchestras. While in the Detroit area, he served as Director of Music at the historic First Presbyterian Church of Detroit and on the staff of Michigan Opera Theater and the Detroit Community Music School. During his long tenure in Philadelphia, he served as Music Director of the First Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia and as Accompanist and Assistant Music Director of the Music Group of Philadelphia. Passionate about the rich resources of the pipe organ, he is involved with the work of the American Guild of Organists in promoting the popularity of the instrument among lovers of music.
