Sebastien Guillot

Sébastien Guillot studied the harpsichord in Paris with Huguette Dreyfus and Christophe Rousset, and continued his training from 1989 to 1993 at the Sweelinck Conservatorium Amsterdam in Bob van Asperen's class, following at the same time a postgraduate course in early chamber music with the Kuijken brothers, and vocal accompaniment, at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. He also graduated from the Sorbonne University as Master of Music and Musicology. Since 1992 he has been a guest performer at many early music festivals, including those at Utrecht and Beaune, the Paris-Art sacré, Versailles, St-Bertrand de Comminges, Tallinn, Kyoto, Rome, and elsewhere. He is also renowned for coaching singers (Versailles, Notre-Dame de Paris), as an accompanist of soloists such as Kai Wessel, Peter Kooy, Jed Wentz, and as conductor of his own ensemble Caeli Aperti since 2001. His recordings include Vivaldi's Organ Concertos and Forqueray's Pièces de viole avec la basse continue. In 1997 he won the second prize at the international competition in Bruges. He teaches early music at the Paris Conservatoires and at the Sorbonne.
