Annette Postel studied classical singing at the Mannheim-Heidelberg Musikhochschule. In 1997 she won first prize in the Berlin Regional Competition for Chanson and in 2000 first prize in the New York Kurt Weill Foundation Lotte Lenya Competition, followed, in 2002, by the Baden-Württemberg Cabaret-Song Prize. She presents popular music revues of the 1920s and chanson-cabaret with her own chansons. These and her parodies have won Annette Postel a considerable public through radio and television. At the same time she has undertaken other soprano rôles, as in My Fair Lady and the rôles of Pamina in Die Zauberflöte and Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni, in Lieder recitals and in oratorio. Her career has brought appearances throughout Germany as well as in the United States.
