Update me on new releases by Heard

Rachel Heard

Rachel Heard is active as a performer/teacher across the United States combining her experience on both the fortepiano and modern piano to present recitals and lectures of the application of period performance practice to interpretation today. She holds performance degrees from the Juilliard School and a doctorate from Rutgers University, where she specialized in the eighteenth-century fortepiano. After studies with the fortepianist Malcolm Bilson, her début recital took place during the 1991 Mozart Bicentennial, an International Symposium on The Young Mozart 1756–1776 in Calgary, Canada. Other appearances have included performance-lectures across the United States, at several US Music Teachers National Association conferences, and for numerous other colleges, universities, and pedagogical organizations. Rachel Heard has been invited several times to perform on the prestigious early music series of the Mississippi Academy of Ancient Music (MA’AM). Her recorded performances on the Mississippi Public Broadcasting network have been heard often across the state and region. She currently resides in Jackson, Mississippi.
