Wendy Warner

Wendy Warner has become one of the leading cellists in the world. "Miraculous", "flawless" and "exquisite” are characterizations often used by the critics. Her reputation precedes her almost everywhere she goes - from New York's Carnegie Hall to Boston's Symphony Hall, from Paris' Salle Pleyel to Berlin's Philharmonie. She has toured North America with the National Symphony Orchestra, Mstislav Rostropovich conducting and the Moscow Virtuosi, Vladimir Spivakov conducting.

Ms. Warner has been seen in acclaimed performances with great orchestras, such as the Chicago Symphony, the Boston Symphony, the National Symphony, the San Francisco Symphony, the Detroit Symphony,  the Dallas Symphony and the Philadelphia Orchestra. In Europe and around the world Ms. Warner has performed with the London Symphony, the Berlin Symphony, the Moscow Virtuosi, the Hong Kong Philharmonic, the French Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, and L'Orchestre du Capitole de Toulouse.

Recent highlights are performances with Gidon Kremer at New York’s Carnegie Hall and Los Angeles’s Walt Disney Hall; with the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra in Minnesota with the Detroit Symphony (Neeme Jarvi).

Three CDs have been released featuring Wendy Warner. The first on Bridge Records with works for cello by Hindemith, the second featuring duos for cello and violin (with Rachel Barton) on Cedille Records and more recently the critically praised recording of the Barber Concerto with Marin Alsop and the Royal Scottish National Orchestra on Naxos Records.
