Susanna Poretzky, mezzo-soprano
Since arriving in Israel from the former Soviet Union in 1990, Susanna Poretzky has rapidly become a leading mezzo-soprano in the country. She has performed extensively there in both opera and concert settings, most frequently with the Israel Philharmonic and the Jerusalem Symphony. Her performances have included Rossinis Stabat Mater, Prokofievs Alexander Nevsky and Bernsteins Jeremiah Symphony and Songfest. Her international appearances include Mahlers Second and Third Symphonies and Berliozs Roméo et Juliette. Susanna Poretzky made her American debut with the Opera Orchestra of New York at Carnegie Hall in Tchaikovskys Mazeppa. Her appearance with the Choral Arts Society of Washington in Yizkor Requiem marked her Kennedy Center début.
