The harpist Susan Jolles has been associated with contemporary music since receiving a Fromm Fellowship at Tanglewood in 1963. She was a member of the Contemporary Chamber Ensemble, the Group for Contemporary Music, and the Juilliard Ensemble, and has been principal harpist with the American Composers Orchestra since its founding. Susan Jolles won the Naumburg Chamber Music Award with the Jubal Trio. She continues to appear in concert with the Jolles Duo, Percussia and other groups. She is an associate harpist with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, and is on the faculties of the Manhattan School of Music and the Mannes College of Music.
